Kusalanamalai Kumaran Temple
Kusalanamalai Kumaran Temple is located on a picturesque rock formation and is revered by the community as a place of great reverence. This is one of the famous temples of Lord Murugan, that has a traditional and simple way of worshipping, unlike many new world temples. The last king, Ruler Kusalanar who reigned carried forward the 30 generations-old traditions of creating a worship place for Lord Murugan. There are three ponds on the rocks identified as the temple pond, pond for bathing, and the pond used to bath by the lady of the ruler, Kusalanar. The architectural marvel is a testament to the abilities shown by the ancient civilization of Sri Lanka. Some inscriptions here have been partially translated.
The view from the top is breathtaking as from one end, you see the beautiful landscape of the adjoining paddy fields, and on the other, you see the Karadiyan aru that enchants the mind, being away from the urban stress.
